Hand hammered aluminum, or hand-forged aluminum is a process of hammering a piece of sheet metal into an engraved die.  The die is a negative image.  When the metal is hammered into the die, the result is a positive image on the metal. It can then be formed into various products, including trays, plates, bowls, coasters, ornaments, candleholders, and more.  The hammering is done with a polished ball peen hammer.  The metal piece is then trimmed, edgemarked, sanded, fired over a forge, formed, and then polished.  My hammered aluminum products are entirely handmade, without the use of any power equipment.  This is old-world craftsmanship at its best.
