All of the engravings seen in this section are carved completely by hand.  They are not die-struck pieces.  The majority of the work is done using a hammer and a chisel, although other tools are used, as well.  My work holder is a custom lathe chuck, and for magnification, I primarily use optivisors.  If you would like to see a step-by-step process of how these carvings are created, please go to the George W. Bush page or The Creation of Ella page.  Only a limited selection of carvings will be shown in the gallery section now to discourage copying.

All designs are copyrighted and can not be copied without our permission

Currently there are NO NICKELS available for PURCHASE

The engravings on this page have been purchased, donated, or are a part of my personal collection.  Custom hobo nickels are available - quotes are based on design, detail, and difficulty.  All of my carvings have high relief and will have either SGA, my signature, or my logo engraved on them.

If you are a collector, fellow enthusiast, or carver, feel free to email me with questions or comments. I am a member of the OHNS (Original Hobo Nickel Society) www.hobonickels.org/, which is a great organization to join if you have an interest in hobo nickels.
