All of the engravings seen in this section are carved completely by hand.  They are not die-struck pieces.  The majority of the work is done using a hammer and a chisel, although other tools are used, as well.  My workholder is a custom lathe chuck, and for magnification, I primarily use optivisors.  Custom hobo nickels are available - quotes are based on design, detail, and difficulty.  All of my carvings have high relief and will have either SGA, my signature, or my logo engraved on them.  If you are a collector, fellow enthusiast, or carver, feel free to email me with questions or comments.  I am a member of the Original Hobo Nickel Society (OHNS), http://www.hobonickels.org/, which is a great organization to join if you have an interest in hobo nickels.  If you would like to see a step-by-step process of how these carvings are created, please go to the George W.
