Welcome
to the SGA Sculpture Engraving website. My
name is Steven Adams, and I am a die
engraver and bas relief sculptor in the
medallic industry. The work presented on
this site includes hobo nickels (the fun
work), die engraving, bas relief sculpture,
and hand hammered aluminum metalware.
Techniques for each of the subjects will be
shown and discussed. More information and
photos will be added as this site develops.
Check Back occasionally to see what's new
and feel free to
e-mail me with your questions and
comments.

The skills displayed on this site
are the result of many years of
practice and hard work. To learn any
skill requires patience and
perseverance. I have found die
engraving to be the most challenging
of my artistic skills. It requires
meticulous attention to detail, a
steady hand, and dedication to
perfection. It is a difficult craft
to master, and there is little room
for error. Sculpting, on the other
hand, allows for more flexibility.
Revisions and changes can be made at
any point during the sculpting
process. Whereas working in tight
tolerances and exact depths are a
crucial part of die engraving,
they're rarely necessary in
sculpture. Both engraving and
sculpture have their advantages,
depending on the requirements of the
project.
For now, this site is a billboard
for SGA Sculpture Engraving. I do
custom and commercial work on a
limited basis. Services offered on
this site will become more
comprehensive when SGA becomes a
full-time venture. Please check out
the links page for interesting
websites in related subjects. |
